Manang District Hospital opens after two weeks



MANANG: The only hospital in Manang district has reopened after 15 days.

The Manang District Hospital was closed after the in-charge tested positive for coronavirus.

It has been reopened after sanitising it. The medical officer had, through a notice, informed of the closure of the hospital after its in-charge was found infected with coronavirus on August 25.

The notice stated that the hospital was sealed off for carrying out contact tracing and spraying disinfectant.

Swab samples of 73 persons including the hospital in-charge were collected and sent for tests.

Out of these samples, 72 swab samples tested negative for coronavirus. The hospital has been reopened after the in-charge got a COVID-19 negative report on September 4.

There are 11 employees, including doctors at the Manang District Hospital.

Of them, seven doctors and medical staff including lab technicians and nurse are working on contract basis.
