Chandragiri Municipality distributes face masks



KATHMANDU: With the increased cases of coronavirus infection in the Kathmandu Valley of late, Chandragiri Municipality distributed face masks to thousands of pedestrians on Friday.

The Metropolitan Police Office Balambu and Ward-11 Office at the Municipality jointly distributed the masks to the pedestrians who were found walking without masks.

Ward Chair Haribhakta Dangol shared that they launched this bid with the objective of creating awareness to the locals to contain the spread of coronavirus infection.

The masks were distributed at Satungal, Bishnudevi, Kharibot, Sipradi, Balkumari and Balambu areas. Balamabu Police Post Chief Inspector Khemraj Raut shared that they were alerting the public to maintain social distance and use face
masks while walking in public places.

On the other hand, Thankot Police is charging Rs 100 to each one who does not wear masks while walking in public places.
