Man succumbs to coronavirus at Patan Hospital



KATHMANDU: A COVID-19 patient undergoing treatment at Patan Hospital in Lalitpur has succumbed to coronavirus.

According to the hospital’s Director Dr. Bishnu Sharma, the 45-year-old man from Birgunj died on Thursday evening.

Dr. Sharma said that the man was also suffering from diabetics and hypertension.

He was diagnosed with the coronavirus at Star Hospital and referred to the hospital.

Similarly, a 25-year-old man undergoing treatment at the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences also died due to coronavirus.

A spokesperson of the hospital, Dr. Dinesh Sapkota, informed that the Siraha resident was suffering from kidney-related ailments.

He had been undergoing dialysis for two years. The man, who was undergoing dialysis at Janakpur Hospital, was referred to Dharan after he tested positive for coronavirus.

With the deaths, Nepal’s death toll from coronavirus has reached 69.
