Nuwakot imposes lockdown as COVID-19 cases spike



NUWAKOT: With infection risks in all the local units, the District Administration Office, Nuwakot has tightened grip on the movement of people in the district to stem coronavirus spread.

A meeting of the Crisis Management Center held on Thursday decided to put a ban on vehicular movements except for essential ones effective from Friday.

Meanwhile, the entry into the district has been restricted.

No vehicles except ambulances will be allowed to  enter the district from 8 pm to 6 am as per the decision, said Chief District Officer Jhanka Nath Dhakal.

According to Dhakal, the movement along the road from Kolpukhola bridge to Duipipal has been restricted while tea shops, hotels, restaurants, religious and political gatherings have been banned until for a further notice.
