Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll jumps to 67 as octogenarian dies in Birgunj



KATHMANDU: One more person has died from coronavirus in Parsa district, taking the death toll from the coronavirus in Nepal to 67.

An 80-year-old man who passed away in his own residence in Birgunj Metropolitan City-11 tested positive for coronavirus. He died on Tuesday and his swab was collected on Wednesday.

His swab sample test conducted posthumously at the laboratory of Narayani Hospital came out positive, said Dr Udayanarayan Singh.

Earlier, 56-year-old man was confirmed to have died from the coronavirus in Birgunj.

The man who was admitted to Gandak COVID Hospital under Narayani Hospital on Tuesday after he complained of respiratory problems died in the course of treatment.

More than 21,750 people have been infected with the coronavirus in Nepal so far.
