KATHMANDU: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged the government to ensure well-managed operation of the quarantines built to keep Nepali nationals returning from abroad.

Issuing a press release on Saturday, NHRC spokesperson Bed Bhattarai called for the government to operate the quarantine services in a way to protect fundamental human rights while concerning the sub-standard operation of quarantine.

Most of the quarantines in the districts including Jhapa, Rautahat, Parsa, Sarlahi, Saptari, Kapilvastu, Banke, Dailekh and Kanchanpur are being operated against the minimum standards.

Nepal is also passing through a difficult mode of time due to the impacts of the global pandemic and nine out of 13 deaths occurred in the quarantine facilities, stated in the press release. RSS
