The NAC’s wide-body aircraft each will take off for Sydney and Beijing today. While one aircraft has been chartered by private businessmen to bring essential medical supplies from China, the other one has been charted by the respective countries, including Australia to rescue their citizens from Nepal, according to NAC spokesperson Archana Khadka.

The first chartered flight will take off from Kathmandu for Australia’s Sydney at 1.30 pm.

The flight will return from Sydney and land at the Tribhuvan International Airport at 5 pm on Thursday.

The plane is taking 264 Australians to Sydney.

On its return journey from there, the plane will be empty and directly fly to Kathmandu.

Likewise, the second plane will leave for Beijing at 5.30 pm Wednesday and return to Kathmandu on Thursday.

It will be NAC’s historic first flight to Beijing. It would be of around seven hours duration.
