WASHINGTON: One of the Nepalis living in USA who was said to have died of coronavirus is still alive, the family sources say.

Ngima Temba Sherpa living in US was undergoing treatment in a hospital there. On Saturday, the hospital informed the relatives that Ngima was no more and the ‘bereaved’ family which could not join the last ritual arranged for the prayers and other rituals at home. They even appealed through social media for prayers for Ngima’s soul.

Later, Ngima’s elder brother Lakpa Youla Sherpa corrected the news saying the hospital has informed the family that Ngima’s was still alive.

Lakpa has apologized for the confusion and clarified that it all resulted as no relatives are permitted to visit the COVID-19 victims in hospital, one has to depend on the hospital updates.
