26 Nepalis infected with coronavirus in Gulf countries,Malaysia

KATHMANDU: With the spread of coronavirus across the globe, as many as 26 Nepali migrant workers have been infected with the novel virus in Malaysia and Gulf countries.

With the four new cases reported, the total number of infection cases has reached 26.

According to the latest reports, 12 Nepali migrants have been infected in Bahrain, eight in Saudi Arabia, one in Kuwait, and Malaysia each.

Similarly, two Nepalis infected with the virus in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have recovered after treatment while six others are undergoing treatment at various hospitals.

The governments have exercised a high security alert after the deadly virus started taking a heavy toll on the Gulf countries.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the COVID-19 has spread to 208 countries, killing 69, 419 and, infecting 1,272,737 across the globe as of Monday morning.
