Coronavirus kills 69, 419 globally, spreads to 208 countries

KATHMANDU: The total death toll from the coronavirus has reached 69, 419 across the globe as of Monday morning.

According to the latest figures collated by Johns Hopkins University, the coronavirus has spread to 208 countries, killing 4, 728 in the last 24 hours.

The total number of infection cases from the deadly virus has surged to 1,272,737 after 71, 254 new cases were reported in a single day.

A total of 261, 485 among those infected have returned home after treatment and 941, 834 have are currently undergoing treatment at various hospitals globally.

The condition of 45, 619 is said to be critical. Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the highest number of people infected with the novel virus are Americans and so is the rate of infection.

With 25, 193 new infection cases, the total number of infection has reached 336, 550 in America. Likewise, the total death toll from the novel virus has reached 9, 616 in the US after 1, 159 died in the last 24 hours.

Spain is the second worst-hit with 131,646 new infection cases. A total of 12, 641 have died as of Monday morning as 694 died in the last 24 hours.

Similarly, the highest number of death toll is in Italy with 15, 887. A total of 525 died in the last 24 hours.
