NC calls emergency meeting after CIAA files case against Gachchhadar

KATHMANDU: Main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has called an emergency meeting with office bearers after the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed a case against Party Vice President Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar

The anti-graft body on Wednesday filed a case at the Special Court against Gachchhadar over the high-profile Lalita Niwas land scam.

The meeting is taking place at Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha.

According to Bhanu Deuba, an aide of President Deuba, NC leaders Krishna Prasad Sitoula, Minendra Rijal, Gopal Man Shrestha, Prakash Man Singh are attending the meeting.

Similarly, former lawyers of Democratic Lawyers Association close to NC, legal practitioners of BAR association close to NC are taking part in the meeting.

CIAA has filed a case at the Special Court against 175 individuals including Gachchhadar.
