Leopard attacks 8-year-old boy to death in Tanahun

TANAHUN: A leopard attacked and killed a two-grader boy in Tanahun district last evening.

Tanahun District Police Office informed that the eight-year-old Pujan Sinjali Magar of Anbukhairani Rural Municipality-1 was killed by a leopard on his way back home from the maternal uncle’s house.

Sinjali Magar was studying at Suryodaya Basic School in the same ward.

According to the police, his body was recovered some 200 meters away from the home when a search was conducted after Magar did not appear at home for a long time.

Seven kids have lost their lives from leopard attacks in Tanahun district so far, according to the Chief of Division Forest Office Kedar Baral.

Meanwhile, Thagiya Tharuni, 76, from Ratnanagar Municipality was killed when she was being stung by the forest bees.

Tharuni, who was sitting at her home, was hurt when a ball of bees stung her.

She was rushed to the Chitwan Medical College but died while undergoing treatment, police said.
