Disgruntled NC district presidents holding meeting at 11 am

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the district presidents of the disgruntled faction of the Nepali Congress is taking place at the central party office in Sanepa on Monday.

According to NC sources, dissenting district presidents loyal to the factions led by Ram Chandra Paudel and Krishna Prasad Sitaula are holding the meeting at 11 am.

The meeting has been called to pile pressure on NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba after the establishment side started taking decisions unilaterally ignoring the demands of the Paudel faction.

The internal rift has widened after the Central Working Committee meeting made public the date for party’s general convention, suspended some clauses of the statute, increased the number of departments among others, the sources said.

Disgruntled leaders Ram Chandra Paudel, Krishna Prasad Sitaula and Shashanka Koirala were absent in the meeting.
