Oli faction working tirelessly to appease Bamdev Gautam



KATHMANDU: At a point when the dispute in the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has reached its Standing Committee for discussion, PM KP Oli faction is striving to entice NCP Vice-Chairman Bam Dev Gautam in the PM’s camp.

According to NCP sources, the influencing leader of PM Oli’s camp Deputy Prime Minister Ishwor Pokharel tried to woo leader Gautam on behalf of PM Oli through a telephone call on Sunday morning.

The source claimed that Pokharel tried to entice Gautam by proposing the latter as a Prime Minister of the forthcoming government to be formed for election and then after.

Similarly, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, the NCP secretariat member still in Oli camp, visited Gautam’s Bhaisepati-based residence and tried to influence Gautam to change the camp.

Vice-Chairman Gautam’s Press Advisor Bishwo Mani Subedi confirmed the meeting between Home Minister Thapa and Gautam but denied to comment on the details claiming he did not have much idea on what the leaders talked about during their one-to-one talk.
