Minister Bhattarai inspects Suketar airport



TAPLEJUNG: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai has inspected Suketar based airport today. The airport is being upgraded.

On the occasion, Minister Bhattarai directed the concerned authority for maintaining the quality of upgrading tasks.

On the occasion, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) managing director Rajan Kumar Pokharel shared that the preparation to resume regular flights in the nearby districts were underway making the Biratnagar Airport as the base.

|He further shared that airport construction was speeded up in 55 mountainous districts and blacktopping task was underway in 22 airports.

It is stated that about 700 meters area in the airport was being upgraded and 150-meter long runway is being blacktopped in Suketar. The blacktopping task takes some time as it needs favorable temperature and it may take until April for completion of the blacktopping of the runway.
