US Election: Biden takes the lead in Georgia

WASHINGTON: Democratic candidate Joe Biden has taken the lead in Georgia over Republican candidate President Donald Trump.

So far, Biden is leading with 917 votes in Georgia. Likewise, in Nevada, Biden is leading with 11,430 votes.

Reports have to say that Trump cannot afford to lose Georgia’s 16 electoral votes to keep alive his hopes of a second term in office.

He also cannot get 270 electoral votes without Georgia and Pennsylvania. Therefore, his chances of securing reelection will hinge on the votes in the two states.

Meanwhile, in Pennsylvania, there remains around 163,501 uncounted absentee ballots, CNN reported.

Mail-in ballots in Pennsylvania, so far, have favored Joe Biden over President Trump even in Republican areas.

This means that there are enough ballots for Biden to overtake Trump’s narrow 18,000-vote margin.

Meanwhile, in Philadelphia, 305,000 mail-in ballots have been counted and there are 60,000 left to count.
