Ward chair dies from COVID-19 in Kailali



KAILALI: COVID-19 infected Narendra Bahadur Shah, ward chair of Gauriganga municipality-3 in Kailali district, has died today morning.

The 73-year-old Shah died at the corona hospital of Seti Provincial Hospital, Dhangadhi, said deputy mayor of the municipality Anchala Chaudhary.

He was tested positive for the infection on November 2. Shah was elected the ward chair from the ruling Communist Party of Nepal.

Meanwhile, preparations were underway to take infected Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of Sudurpaschim Province, Prakash Bahadur Shah, who is receiving treatment in Dhangadhi, to Kathmandu for further treatment, said minister Shah’s personal secretary Junga Bahadur BK.

“The minister’s health has not improved although his health is stable. So preparations are underway to take him to Kathmandu. The minister was at home-isolation after he contracted the virus. But he was admitted to Seti Provincial Hospital on Wednesday after he started bleeding from the nose,” said BK.

The minister, his spouse and driver contracted the virus on October 31.
