Number of COVID-19 deaths in Jhapa climbs to 58



JHAPA: The number of deaths from COVID-19 has reached 58 in Jhapa district so far.

The number of active cases is 893 in the district, according to District Health Office, Jhapa.

According to the statistics maintained by the office, the PCR test reports of 2, 362 out of 30,441 swab samples collected in the district came out positive.

Of them, 1,442 have recovered from the virus, informed Jivan Chaulagain, the focal person of the office.

The highest number of infected and the deaths from the virus are from Damak municipality where 558 people have been infected and 20 have died from the virus.
