9 more succumb to COVID 19, national death toll reaches 289

KATHMANDU: As many as 9 more persons have succumbed to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours taking the national death toll to 289.

Speaking at a regular press briefing on Sunday, Dr Jageshwor Gautam, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population, stated that 7 males and two females lost their lives due to pandemic virus in Nepal.

Out of 7 males, three are from Kathmandu aged 74, 68 and 85 respectively, a 45-year-old of Morang, a 77-year-old of Parsa, and a 70-year-old of Chitwan and two females, a 64-year-old of Morang and a 45-year-old of Jhapa, who had tested positive for COVID-19, died while receiving treatment at various health facilities across the nation.
