Woman who died at Gorkha Hospital diagnosed coronavirus positive



GORKHA: A woman who died while undergoing treatment at Gorkha Hospital has been diagnosed with the coronavirus infection.

According to a report received from the Province Public Health Laboratory, Pokhara, the woman was confirmed to have the infection on Sunday morning, said Rajuraman Neupane, Information Officer at the District Health Office, Gorkha.

The 75-year-old woman of Gorkha Municipality had died on Saturday while undergoing treatment after being brought unconscious to the hospital.

Her swab sample was also collected on Saturday morning and sent for testing after her family members were diagnosed positive for the pandemic.

The hospital said five health workers involved in the treatment have been quarantined.

Chief District Officer Tirtha Raj Bhattarai stated that preparations were being made to manage the dead body by the Nepal Army personnel.
