Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll reaches 65



KATHMANDU: Nepal’s death toll from coronavirus reached 65 as of Thursday afternoon after five deaths reported in the last 24 hours.

Speaking at a regular press briefing on Thursday afternoon, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that two people from Morang, one each from Saptari, Dhanusha and Sarlahi districts have succumbed to coronavirus.

He said that a 45-year-old man from Rangeli in Morang died on Wednesday while being taken to Koshi Hospital.

Likewise, another man from the same district succumbed to coronavirus at Koshi Hospital.

According to Spokesperson Dr. Gautam, a 65-year-old woman from Sarlahi died while undergoing treatment at the Balambu-based Armed Police Force Hospital yesterday.

Similarly, a 72-year-old woman from Dhanusha who died at Om Hospital in Kathmandu on Saturday tested positive for coronavirus and a 42-year-old from Saptari succumbed to coronavirus on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the country’s coronavirus tally has reached 21,750 after 360 people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours.
