MFD predicts heavy rains from Saturday



KATHMANDU:  Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has forecast heavy rains from coming Saturday.

With the low pressure monsoon trough surging towards Nepal, there is a high possibility of heavy downpour after two days.

Light to moderate rains are likely to occur today and tomorrow (Friday) and heavy downpour from Saturday, said Samir Shrestha, a meteorologist.

According to Shrestha, the heavy downpour will begin from Saturday evening.This weather pattern will continue until Tuesday, according to the Division.

Heavy rains coupled with thunderstorms and lightning are possible in one or two places in Province 1 and Gandaki Province today.

Shrestha further said that one or two places of Province 1, Bagmati, Gandaki and Province 5 will witness heavy downpour tonight.
