KATHMANDU: The National Examination Board (NEB) is planning to publish the result of this year’s Secondary Education Examination (SEE) by July 29.

As instructed to the line agencies, the District Education Coordination Units have already made the internal evaluation available to NEB by now.

According to Ram Raj Khakurel, the Acting Controller of the Examination of NEB, the grades the schools provided on the basis of internal assessment are being uploaded to the online server of the board by all 77 district units.
NEB had instructed all units to upload the result of internal assessment by July 5.

According to NEB sources, some district units have not provided the assessment report until now.

Khakurel informed that some units found it a bit difficult to provide the report as some schools did not have the teachers with them due to lockdown.

NEB had, earlier, directed the schools to form an internal assessment committee comprising of school headmaster/principal and two more teachers.

Khakurel informed that once the assessment report is uploaded, NEB would tally the result with the hard copy provided by the schools and publish the result after ensuring there are no errors.

“As some units are still to submit the reports, provided they fail to submit it on time, the result may be postponed for few more days,” Acting Controller Khakurel said, “However, we are optimistic we can meet the deadline of July 29.”

The meeting of Council of Minister held on June 10 had decided to cancel the SEE of 2020 and upgrade the students on the basis of the internal assessment made by the schools.

As many as 4,82,707 students were disappointed when the SEE they had prepared to attend from April 19 onwards was postponed due to fear of coronavirus pandemic.

Lately, citing the same reason related to COVID-19 vulnerability, the government has decided to upgrade Grade 11 to next Grade on the basis of the school’s internal assessment.
