COVID-19 cases in Province 2 reach 1,077



KATHMANDU: The number of coronavirus cases in Province 2 has reached 1,077.

Secretary at the Ministry of Social Development of Province 2, Ram Prasad Ghimire, said that the number of infected people in the province has reached 1,077 after the infection was confirmed in 83 more people on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Ministry of Social Development, new cases have been confirmed in seven people in Saptari, eight in Dhanusha, 35 in Mahottari, 27 in Sarlahi and six in Rautahat.

In the laboratory tests conducted at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, the infection has been confirmed in five men aged 27 to 40 years in the quarantine of Balanbihul Rural Municipality of Saptari and seven others including two women aged 20 and 27 years in the same rural municipality.

The infection has been confirmed in six men in the age group of 19 to 54 years in Debpura Rupaitha’s quarantine of Dhanusha.

The infection has been confirmed in 17 men in Jaleshwor quarantine of Mahottari, seven men in Matihani quarantine, six men in Ekadara quarantine, two men in Gaushala quarantine and one woman in the same quarantine.

Among them, 34 men in the age group of 11 to 44 years, including a 22-year-old woman of Gaushala quarantine, have been confirmed infected.

According to the test conducted at the National Public Health Laboratory in Kathmandu, the infection has been confirmed in 16 men of Ramnagar Rural municipality of Sarlahi, eight men of Malangwa Municipality and three men of Ishwarpur Municipality. They are in the age group of 16 to 36 years.

The infection has been confirmed in four men and two women in quarantine under Ishnath Municipality of Rautahat.
