HETAUDA: The policy and programs for fiscal year 2020/21 of Bagmati State has given priority to the health sector. This is mentioned in the budget estimates for the new fiscal year in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Accordingly, the State government will coordinate with the federal and local government to strengthen human resources, equipment and medicines in the health institutions to make the free basic health services effective.

All district Ayurveda centers will also be encouraged as alternative medicine, along with natural medicine.

Furthermore, the Hetauda hospital will be upgraded into a 300-bed hospital while the Madan Bhandari Institute of Health Sciences will be promoted as a research center. Likewise, 100-bed capacity specialized health service provider centres shall be established in Bhaktapur, Sindhuli and Trishuli hospitals.

Dhading and Chautara will have a 50-bed hospital while Ramechhap and Rasuwa will have a 25-bed hospital. Districts without a State hospital will have one in collaboration with the concerned local level government, as stated in the policy and programs.
