BIRATNAGAR: Over 10 million Indian rupees have been recovered from a truck that was entering Nepal from India in the guise of transporting essentials during the lockdown.
According to DIG Pravin Kumar Shrestha, Central Spokesperson of the Armed Police Force (APF), 10.9 million Indian rupees was seized from a truck, WB-43-E735, that was entering Nepal through Rani Customs gate of Morang.
Shrestha said that the Indian rupee was found hidden in a carton in the truck while it was entering the integrated customs check post.
Armed Police have arrested truck driver Ravi Kumar and co-driver Pappu with the money.
According to DIG Shrestha, the truck driver said that he came from Supaul, India. The driver said that they were preparing to return to Siliguri, India after loading diapers in Biratnagar.
APF has handed over the arrested men along with the recovered money to Customs Office.
