1,582 samples tested for coronavirus in last 24 hours

KATHMANDU: A total of 1,582 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours on suspicion of coronavirus.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 66,077 samples have been tested in Nepal so far.

Spokesperson Dr. Bikash Devkota said that 13,850 samples were tested with PCR and 52,227 with RDT.

With the addition of seven people in Nepalgunj on Tuesday morning, the number of infected people has reached 82. Of those infected, 61 are men and 21 are women. 16 have recovered after treatment and 66 are undergoing treatment.

According to the ministry, 31 people were found infected in Province 1, 13 in Province 2, seven in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, 24 in Province 5 and five in Far-Western Province. Spokesperson Devkota informed that the health condition of all the infected was normal.

A total of 120 people are in isolation of the hospital including two inside the Kathmandu Valley. At present, 21,099 people are in quarantine across the country, according to the ministry.
