Lightning claims elderly woman in Doti

DOTI: An elderly woman was killed after being struck by a lightning at Sirmagaun at Sayal Rural Municipality-2 in Doti district on Wednesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Jasudevi Oli, 60, according to the District Police Office (DPO), Doti.

The lightning struck Oli at around 6:30 pm while she was inside her house. She died on the spot, said DPO Chief and Superintendent of Police, Dilip Singh Deuja.

A police team has been dispatched to the accident site and further details are awaited.
