KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba said his party would not accept the bills brought out against the letter and spirit of the constitution.
At a program organized here Wednesday to mark the 74th establishment day of Nepal Trade Union Congress, former Prime Minister Deuba accused the government of opting to intervene democratic values and norms. “The government was effortful to impose communist regime in the country based on majority.
“So NC should unite against such move”, he added. Deuba also noted that the opposition role in the parliament was gradually becoming stronger. The President also urged the party leaders and cadres to get prevented from coronavirus that was spread from China.
NC senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel said the country’s democracy has received more challenges lately. ‘The government has centralized all forces so NC has no option but to struggle against such tendency”.
NC leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula urged the ruling parties not to misuse the constitution as it was promulgated to propel the welfare of the nation not the handful communist leaders.
NTUC President Pushkar Acharya said the government and political parties once reached to the power on the backup of workers forget their commitments to address to the genuine demands of workers’ class.
