Govt working on special policy to end social anomalies



KATHMANDU: Minister for Women, Children and Social Security Parbat Gurung today said the government is working on to issue a special policy on women.

Speaking at a program in Lalitpur, Minister Gurung said that the government was committed to ending the dowry system, child marriage, and witchcraft, among others.

He further said that the special policy would bring programs that would support the government’s goal of ‘Prosperous Nepal: Happy Nepali’.

Minister Gurung further stated that the government is also planning to develop the social service sector as a national pride project, which he claimed would contribute to the country’s prosperity.
