Around 24,500 people affected by coronavirus worldwide

KATHMANDU: Coronavirus outbreak that began in China has so far infected more than 24,500 people globally.

According to the latest figures as of Wednesday in Beijing, while there have been more than 490 deaths in China with 24,324 confirmed cases of infection on the mainland, Hong Kong has had 17 cases, including one death.

Likewise, Macao has had 10 cases. The deaths have been in central Hubei province, where the new type of coronavirus was first detected in December last year, reports have said.

Likewise, coronavirus has so far infected 33 people in Japan, 25 in Thailand, 24 in Singapore, 18 in South Korea, 13 in Australia, 12 in Germany, 11 in the United States, 11 in Taiwan, 12 in Malaysia, 10 in Vietnam, 6 in France, 5 in United Arab Emirates, 4 in Canada, 3 in India, 3 including 1 death in the Philippines, 2 in Russia, 2 in Italy, 2 in Britain, 1 in Belgium, 1 in Nepal, 1 in Sri Lanka, 1 in Sweden, 1 in Spain, 1 in Cambodia, and 1 in Finland.
