PALPA: Hiranyalal Shrestha is going to be awarded this year’s Pushpalal Memorial National Journalism Award established by Tansen Municipality.

The award with a purse of Rs 111,111 will be presented on June 28 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Pushpa Lal.

Shrestha has been the Chief Editor of Daily Diary Weekly, Janajagriti Weekly, and Rato Yugdhara Weekly.

Senior journalist Shrestha was sentenced to three years in jail for writing an editorial in support of the restoration of multi-party democracy in Janajagriti Weekly.
