One more suspect behind ABDL hacking nabbed



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a man in connection with the hacking of Agriculture Development Bank Limited (ADBL).

Police arrested Deepak Nepal of Rangeli-2 in Morang district who had allegedly siphoned Rs 10 million following the hacking. He has been accused of stealing money from ADBL and other banks in Nepal with the help of Indian and Nigerian accomplices.

43-year-old Deepak was arrested by a team of Metropolitan Police Crime Division on Friday. He has been handed over to Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu for further action.

According to SSP Sahakul Thapa, the gang had planned to steal Rs five billion from different Nepali banks.

Thapa said Deepak’s bank account was frozen before he could withdraw the siphoned money.

Police have already arrested 16 people for their alleged involvement in the crime.
