Rs 10 million in traffic violation fine



DOTI: The District Traffic Police Office, Dipayal district collected revenue worth more than Rs 10 million in the first six months of the current fiscal year.

During this period, around 1,629 drivers were penalized for violating the traffic rules, according to the chief of the District Traffic Police Office, Ashok Khadka.

The Office had collected Rs. 2. 4 million from fine imposed on traffic rules violators in the previous fiscal year. Some 4,454 people were penalized last discal year.

The office has been carrying out strict monitoring on the roads. Khadka said that the objective is not to collect revenue but minimize road accidents.
