Two die, three injured in Jhapa road accident



DAMAK: Two people were killed in a road accident that took place here on the East-West highway last night. Three others were injured.

The accident took place when an auto-rickshaw (Me. 1 Ha. 4919) was hit by a truck with the Indian registration number (BR07GH78) at Campus mode in Damak-9, police said.

The auto-rickshaw driver Hari Bahadur Bhujel of Damak municipality-9 and a passenger died. The second person is yet to be identified.

Three others injured in the accident are undergoing treatment at the local Lifeline hospital, DSP at the Area Police Office, Damak Bijaya Raj Pandit said.

The truck has been impounded while its driver has been taken into police custody for necessary action.
