WASHINGTON: Vote counting in the United States continues in some key battleground states that will determine the outcome of the US presidential election.

The final result hinges on the states of Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.

Meanwhile, the Republican Donald Trump campaign has launched legal steps to stop the counts in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Michigan.

People – both Republican and Democrats — have taken to streets of some cities of the US demanding that counting be allowed to continue, while others calling for counting to stop.

Republican candidate Trump has alleged fraud, without offering evidence.

Meanwhile, Democrat Joe Biden has racked up around 71.5 million votes. He has said he will win enough states to become the President of the US.

However, key results remain outstanding.

Trump is so far projected to win 23 states, including Ohio, Texas, and Florida.
