Four more COVID-19 infected people die in last 24 hours



KATHMANDU: Four people including an octogenarian have died from COVID-19 in separate places in the country in the last 24 hours.

Three people have died due to coronavirus infection at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan.

A 59-year-old man passed away in the course of treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences at 3 am today.

Originally from Morang, the patient, who tested for positive for COVID-19 on October 25, had been suffering from high blood pressure and cardiac related ailments, said Dr Ashish Shrestha, the deputy spokesperson of the hospital.

Similarly, a 23-year-old woman of Rajbiraj-1, Saptari, infected with the virus has passed away in the course of treatment at the hospital.

The deceased had been suffering from anemia and tested positive for COVID-19 on October 18. She died at 3:15 am today, said Shrestha.

Similarly, a 65-year-old man infected with COVID-19 passed away in the course of treatment at the hospital.

Originally from Rajbiraj-8, Saptari, the sexagenarian tested positive for COVID-19 on October 31.  He breathed his last at 8 am today.

Preparations are underway to manage the bodies of the deceased as per the existing rule, said the hospital administration.

Likewise,  an octogenarian has died in the course of treatment at Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan district.

An 82-year-old man of Hetauda Sub Metropolitan City-6 succumbed to the virus in the course of treatment on Thursday morning, said Liladhar Paudel, the information officer of the hospital.

The elderly who tested positive for COVID-19 on October 31 was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday after he complained of fever, dry cough and respiratory complications.

He breathed his last while being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital this morning, said Paudel.
