NA hands over newly-constructed Ghantibagar-Chhangru trail

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Army (NA) has handed over Ghantibagar- Chhangru trail to the local government accomplishing the construction and trail opening tasks in 85 days.

NA has handed over the 2-meter wide trail on Monday.

The trail was lying incomplete for three years due to the adverse rocky mountain on the route.

The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province Trilochan Bhatta, Province lawmaker Gelbo Singh Bohora, Major General Nirmal Kumar Thapa, Brigadier General Santosh Ballav Paudel, Darchula’s Chief District Officer Sarad Kumar Pokharel and many other dignitaries of the province.

After being assigned the task of opening the track by the Province government, NA had initiated the work on May 22.

The transportation of the goods and supplies for the inhabitants of Chhangru and Tinker area of Byas Rural Municipality had become very difficult after the foot trails they have been using had been obstructed in many ways when India carried out the construction of the road before.

The newly-opened track is 550 meters long.
