Indian trader arrested in connection with ADBL hacking

KANCHANPUR: Police have arrested Sushil Garg, a 55-year-old businessman from Banbasa in Champawat district of India on charges of hacking the Agriculture Development Bank (ADBL) system and embezzling funds.

He was arrested from the Nepal-India border area. He trades slippers in Banbasa’s Mina Bazaar.

According to police sources, Garg was absconding after being charged with hacking the system of ADBL Lahan Branch and embezzling Rs 50 million.

The Kathmandu District Court had issued a warrant for his arrest on June 22, 2019, on charges including banking fraud and organized crime.

His nephew Anuj Garg alias Annu is still absconding.

Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) had arrested Yagya Raj Bhatt of Bangaun of Mahendranagar. Sushil was arrested on the statement by Bhatta.
