Hearing on the writ against NCP VP Gautam to be delayed

The hearing likely to go after Dashain Holidays



KATHMANDU: After one of the Supreme Court justices tested positive, hearing against Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Vice President Bam Dev Gautam’s nomination in the National Assembly is likely to be extended till Dashain festival.

According to the SC sources, the precautionary quarantine life held essential for all justices who came into contact of the COVID-19 positive justice is likely to delay in the hearing.

After the hearing on the writ could not conclude on Friday, the hearing was rescheduled for Wednesday (October 7).

The hearing is going on in the Constitutional Bench consisting of five justices, including Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana, Justice Deepak Kumar Karki, Hari Krishna Karki, Bishwombhar Prasad Shrestha and Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada.

According to an SC official, the court remains closed on Dashain holidays from October 17.
