Tatopani Customs Checkpoint resumes from today

SINDHUPALCHOWK: Tatopani Customs Checkpoint, which had been closed for the last three months, has officially resumed from today.

The imports of goods have resumed through the Nepal-China border from today in line with the agreement reached between Nepali and Chinese authorities on September 29.

Even though the Tatopani checkpoint resumed officially from today, some goods had been imported through the checkpoint from Sunday itself.

According to Lal Bahadur Khatri, chief of Tatopani Customs Checkpoint, 11 container vans loaded with garments and raw materials entered Nepal via the checkpoint yesterday.

Tatopani Customs Checkpoint has kept two teams, each comprising 29 members, standby for loading and unloading goods to stem the coronavirus spread. Coronavirus tests will be conducted on them every five days, according to Khatri.

Tatopani Customs Checkpoint had remained closed since July 9.
