Gandaki Pradesh records 44 new COVID-19 cases



POKHARA: As many as 44 additional coronavirus cases have been detected in Gandaki Pradesh on Saturday morning.

The new cases were confirmed during tests  carried out at the laboratory of Regional Tuberculosis Center, Pokhara this morning.

The newly infected are 22 from Kaski, 17 from Lamjung, three from Bagluna and one each from Syangja and Nawalparasi.

Two women infected from Pokhara Metropolitan City are the staffers of the Paschimanchal Community Hospital. Similarly, five men aged 25, 28, 31, 41, 44 from Pokhara Metropolitan City are India-returnees.

Likewise, 5-year-old of Pokhara Metropolitan City-16 is ths staffer of Danphe Saving and Credit Cooperatives.

Four people infected with COVID-19 from Besisahar, Lamjung are the patients admitted to Lamjung District Community Hospital.

The others were confirmed to have been infected through contact tracing, said the Ministry of Social Development of Gandaki Pradesh.

With this, the number of coronavirus cases has reachd 2,447 in the province as of Saturday morning.

Among those infected, 1,773 have recovered from the virus. The death toll from the virus is put at 18 in the provice.
