Septuagenarian succumbs to COVID-19 at Dhulikhel Hospital

KAVRE: A 76-year-old man of Bardibas has died of coronavirus in the course of treatment at Dhulikhel Hospital.

The septuagenarian who was admitted 15 days ago after his health condition deteriorated died on Saturday morning, said Dr Narendra Kumar Jha of District Health Office, Kavre.

The report of his swab sample collected following his admission to the hospital had come out positive.

With this, the number of deaths in the district from coronavirus has reached five including three from outside the district.

Meanwhile, 17 people including patients and staffers of Scheer Memorial Hospital based in Banepa have been diagnosed with the coronavirus.

Health workers,  staffers, patients and visitors were confirmed to have been infected with the virus during tests conducted at the laboratory of Dhulikhel Hospital on Friday evenining, informed Dr Jha.
