DHARAN: The Dharan Sub-metropolitan City has imposed a week-long lockdown to stem the spread of coronavirus effective from Wednesday midnight.

A meeting of the sub-metropolitan committee decided to impose lockdown raising suspicion over the spread of coronavirus in the community.

According to Deputy Mayor of Dharan, Manju Subedi, they decided to impose the lockdown to conduct tests and find out whether the virus has spread to the community level.

She said all non-essential services will be shut down in Dharan adding that more than 500 PCR tests will be conducted in the city.
