Heavy rainfall forecast at some places for today



KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has predicted heavy rainfall at one or two places of the Province 1, Province 2, Gandaki Province and Province 5 on Sunday.

In a weather bulletin issued for today, it said that the weather will be generally cloudy throughout the country with light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at many places of the country.

There are chances of heavy rainfall at one or two places of the Province 1, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and Province 5 at night, the met office said.

According to MFD, currently, monsoon winds are affecting the entire country. In addition, eastern Uttar Pradesh in India has a low-pressure area.

The met office requested to take necessary precaution as the flow of water in the rivers in Province 1, Province 2, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and Province 5 may increase, soil erosion, landslides, road and air transport may be affected and inundation may take place in areas where sewage/water is not well-drained.
