Dispute over relief materials distribution in Siraha leads to firing



JANAKPURDHAM: A dispute over the distribution of the relief material has led to firing in Mirchaiya, Siraha on Monday.

According to Siraha Police, five policemen and four civilians are injured in the clash which was ensued from the dispute about the discrimination in relief materials.

The relief materials are being distributed in Mirchaiya Municipality-7 since last three days.

According to DSP Binod Ghimire, Spokesperson of Siraha Police, when few people tried to disturb the relief materials distribution program, those in queue protested making the police interrupt the clash.

According to DSP Ghimire, the police had to use teargas and nine rounds of firing to take the situation under control.

The locals were said to have protested against the names of rich people included in the list of relief seekers.
