Lockdown relaxed: What’s allowed in India from today?

NEW DELHI: The extended period of the lockdown enters the third phase from Monday in India.

According to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, there will be relaxations across India except for the containment zones and hotspots.

Public activities will be prohibited irrespective of the zone divisions throughout the country.

Rail, air, rail and travel by Metro will be banned. Likewise, inter-state movement on roads will also remain to be banned.

Indian media reports said rail, air, and road travel will be allowed for those with permission from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Likewise, colleges, schools, and educational coaching, training institutions will be prohibited from functioning.

Restaurants and hotels will not be allowed to open across the country, reports said.

Similarly, malls, cinema halls, sports complexes, and gymnasiums will continue to remain shut.

Authorities have also banned all political, social, cultural and other gatherings such as religious.

Meanwhile, in the Orange Zones and Green Zones, spas, barber shops, and salons will be allowed to reopen throughout the country from Monday.

Liquor shops have also been allowed to reopen from Monday in all Red, Orange and Green Zones, but with guidelines.

Domestic helps such as drivers, maids, and cleaners are allowed to go to work.

Public buses are allowed to operate with up to 50 per cent seating capacity in Green Zones.
