KATHMANDU: European countries including Germany and France are taking back their citizens stranded in Nepal today.

They are being airlifted on four different charted planes to their respective countries, informed Dhanajaya Regmi, executive officer of Nepal Tourism Board (NBT).

According to Regmi, over 1,100 citizens of European countries will fly back to their countries on two flights of Qatar Airways, one flight of Malindo Air of Sri Lanka and one that of Malaysian Airlines.

Those flying back home are from France, Germany, Czech Republic and Austria. While 179 out of the 303 seats in the airbus were French citizens, the rest 124 were from other countries.
