Dr Khatiwada re-appointed Finance Minister

KATHMANDU: Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada has been re-appointed as the Minister of Finance on Wednesday.

President Bidhya Devi Bhandari appointed Dr Khatiwada as the minister on the recommendation of Prime Minister K P Oli.

Dr Khatiwada had resigned as the Finance Minister Tuesday.

Chief Secretary Lok Darshan Regmi had handed over the resignation letter to the President’s Office on Tuesday afternoon.

Dr Khatiwada will be sworn in as Finance Minister later in the afternoon today.

Dr Khatiwada was nominated to the National Assembly (NA) by the President on the recommendation of the government two years back.

His two-year term ended yesterday.
