House passes condolence motion



KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives on Tuesday passed a condolence proposal over the passing of former lawmaker Shreeram Shrestha.

Shrestha was elected to the National Assembly on a Nepali Congress seat in the election held in 2048 BS.

He died on Monday at the age of 80 while under treatment at Nidan Hospital, Lalitpur. Shrestha had played a significant role in every movement for the establishment of democracy.

He was a leader who believed in a simple life with integrity.

The House unanimously passed the proposal tabled by Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota in the meeting.

The House of Representatives expressed sorrow over Shrestha’s demise and also wished for the eternal peace to the departed soul.
